Crack and Shatter.

The body's exhaustion is evident; aching, fatigue. The body sends signals to you that says "you've had enough." You can tell when you're about to give out. Then, you sleep. You drift into the lawless world of your subconscious for hours, until you need to awaken or your body has fulfilled it's needs. It always tells you when you need to stop, when you've done to much, when you'll break.
The mind, however, shows no signs. The mind can't break with outside forces. The brain, which is the physical aspect, can. Your mind cannot. The mind breaks itself. If it shows signs of cracking, it's you who finds the sign. Then because you are human, you pry open the cracks. You keep thinking about the cracks in your life, finding new ways to blame yourself, the ones you love, the ones you hate. Digging deeper, expanding problems to new levels, creating problems in other areas. Until one day, the cracks meet and shatter. You break.
Lies have broken me. They have cracked my emotions and shattered my mind. I have turned into somebody different, somebody who is burdened by guilt. Crack after crack, without rest. The mind doesn't rest. It seems vicious, and it seems unfair and cruel. The human mind is all of those things. We were made to destroy ourselves, it seems.
We were made to need Jesus. He is the mind's rest. It took me an hour and a half on a Monday night, with tears staining my clothes, to realize this. The cracks can be sealed, the mind can rest. The human mind will always destroy itself. Jesus will always try to mend it. Jesus will bring my father to the knowledge that he loves me. Jesus will show my mother what she needs. Jesus will bring peace to my ever-destructive mind. Pain is given to everyone as a test to see who is strong enough to seek Jesus.

It feels good writing again, I haven't in about a year.
